Rubber, and rubber composites, have been used for many years as the only available materials for squeegee screen printing blades. Its life was short, residues were left on screens and it required regular redressing to maintain print quality.

This has now been superseded by High Grade Polyurethane (HGP).

HGP outperforms and outlasts rubber like no other material.

  • It lasts longer - up to 30 times the life of rubber. Using wire mesh and ceramic inks, as little as 2 mm may be worn after 375,000 prints.
  • Needs minimal maintenance. Will run up to 120,000 prints on original profile.
  • Prolongs screen life. Pressure can be reduced typically from up to 15 Kg to as little as 5Kg (0.75 bar).
  • Does not absorb oils and can therefore be reused on other media.
  • Has high tear resistance. Broken glass will tear screens but will not tear HGP
  • It is manufactured to fine tolerances: Thickness + 0.2 mm Width + 0 -2 mm
  • 'Shore' strengths from 55° to 97°. Stock strengths from 65° to 80°.
  • Widths from 5 to 100 mm.
  • Thicknesses from 3 mm to 15 mm.
  • Shapes - Plain Cut (PO); Round ("PR"), Chisel ("PK"); Sharp Vee ("PV") and the special profile "PVX" with flat tip of 0.5 to 3.0 mm specially designed for double stroke automatic bottle and tumbler printing. Ideal tip for glass and ceramics printing has been found to be 1 mm i.e. "PVX + 1".
  • It is available in standard lengths of 3.66 metres or cut to convenient lengths for ease of handling and storage.

The following specifications cover our standard range of squeegees. Other sizes, profiles and shore strengths are also available.
